TICKET INFORMATION

Ticket Prices

Tickets are $11.00.

A reduced ticket price of $6.00 is available for:

These discounts are made possible, in part, with generous support from the Academy Foundation of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, and the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs.

Senior Citizens

Seniors pay $6.00, Monday-Friday for shows which begin before 5pm only. At all other times, seniors must pay full price.

With very few exceptions, everything we present on all 3 screens plays during this pre-5pm time slot weekdays.

We understand that many seniors are disappointed with the time limitations of our discount policy. However, we are a nonprofit cinema, offering specialized fare, and thus have to balance our discount policies with financial realities. Unlike movie chains (Clearview Cinemas, Loews, United Artists, Regal and Landmark Cinemas, etc.) we do not generate large profits. We must limit discounted tickets to screenings which are ordinarily less crowded, and evening and weekend shows are inevitably the most crowded.

Consider purchasing a Film Forum Membership: A $75 membership allows you to buy a $6.00 at all times. And an $110 membership allows the same discount for you plus a guest. Considering the high rate of turn-over of our films, a membership offers important savings year-round.

Group Sales

Reduced price tickets of $6.00 are available for groups of 12 or more. Generally we limit group sales to Monday-Thursday shows. We encourage teachers with students to attend on this basis. Checks are accepted for group sales. Please call Alice Chahbazian Mateychak (212) 627-2035 or e-mail her to make arrangements.

Ticket Sales Policy

Double & Triple Features:

All double features (two films for the price of one) and triple (or "multiple") features (three films for the price of one)
are clearly marked on our website.
Look for these signs:
DOUBLE FEATURE!
MULTIPLE FEATURE!
Or the text: "2 FILMS FOR 1 ADMISSION" or “3 FILMS FOR 1 ADMISSION"

Tickets sales policy for triple features is the same as for double features.

SELLOUTS: Once a film sells out, tickets for the
next available show time go on sale immediately.

AN EXPLANATION OF OUR TICKET SALES POLICY
FOR DOUBLE FEATURES

Film Forum sometimes presents double features (one admission charge entitles you to see two films) as part of our repertory program. All double features are clearly marked as such on our website.

Unfortunately, we cannot sell tickets to double features online or in advance. The number of seats available for each show is dependent upon the number of tickets sold to the previous show, and, ultimately, to the number of people who stay on to see both features. For this reason we must sell shows in consecutive order. After tickets are sold for the first two films of the day, sales for each film begin 20 minutes after the start time of the preceding film of the same title.

When one-half of a double feature is sold out, we start a standby line outside. People often leave after the first feature, therefore freeing up additional seats. Our ushers are trained to count seats and get in as many people from the standby line as possible (for that reason, we ask your cooperation in NOT leaving coats or other belongings on seats!). It's extremely rare that a film is so popular that the standby line does not get in.

The double feature is a tradition that we're proud to maintain. We've generally gotten very positive feedback from our members and other audience members regarding them. We apologize to those who think our double feature policy an inconvenience.
