Fiscal Sponsorship

The Moving Image, Inc., d/b/a Film Forum provides fiscal sponsorship to filmmakers in support of their projects. This sponsorship allows individuals to solicit and receive tax deductible donations from individuals and gifts from foundations in support of a specific project, without having to create a 501 c 3 non-profit corporation.

Fiscal sponsorship is granted on a project basis and is not meant to serve as a conduit for general operating support for an individual.

The Moving Image, Inc. retains a percentage of all funds received on the filmmaker's behalf as an administrative fee for this service: 5% for donations made by check and 8% for donations made by credit card.

This program does not raise funds for filmmakers or provide monetary support of any kind.

The Moving Image, Inc. does not sponsor any applications for public funds (such as National Endowment for the Arts, New York State Council on the Arts, or State Councils on the Humanities, etc).

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Projects accepted into the program will need to report each six months on the status of their project until completion.

To apply, please send the following materials via email to Chad Bolton

  1. a one page synopsis of the film
  2. bios of the principals (director, writer, producer)
  3. a proposed budget
  4. the name of the individual and/or entity that will responsible for receiving the funds
