“As idea-rich as any five
films this year.
By turns harrowing, hilarious, and heartbreaking,
it may be the smartest thrill-ride of the season.
Ranks among the tastiest genre-melts
made anywhere this decade.”

A one-of-a-kind, genre-blending spectacle from South Korea.
Is Lee, a lonesome bee wrangler, the only person on earth who can protect the
human race from body-snatching aliens? He seems to think so – and he
is onto their identities (Andromedans), their goals (to destroy our planet
at the next lunar eclipse), and the one alien possessing the Royal Genetic
Code which can stop the invasion: his former boss, the CEO of a chemical manufacturing
firm. With the aid of his circus performer girlfriend, Lee kidnaps the executive
and prods him for information to contact the Andromedan leader. Is Lee's mind
warped by paranoia? Has he seen too many sequels to MEN IN BLACK? Or is the
planet actually in danger?
Wildly unpredictable, SAVE
THE GREEN PLANET dares to ask these questions with
a heady mélange of genres – science fiction, black comedy, policier,
eco-friendly satire, even martial arts – and, in a twist on THE DAY
THE EARTH STOOD STILL, evoke our own 20th century cruelties to fellow earthlings.
This unique film has triumphed as a cult hit and audience favorite at film
festivals around the world, including the Toronto and Hong Kong festivals,
and won awards at festivals in Rotterdam, Buenos Aires and Brussels.
